Loliettoo® quality assurance team is made of specialists: experts in agrobiodiversity, plant genetic researchers, agronomists, chemists and quality & development managers

Our main goal is to provide the best quality product, supported by the highest level of technical data and attention to customer needs.

Quality assurance begins at the source with the organization and control of all the aspects of supply, production and processing to meet any expectations and ensure integrity of our products. Loliettoo® oils are sourced from all around the world, where our academic partners and PhD technical specialists in loco carefully select the best seed farmers and oil manufacturers. 

Quality control procedures are conform to the HACCP methodology and products are all assessed according to stringent international and internal standards, tested independently to provide analytical and safety data, and efficiently distributed to customers around the globe. Conventional analyses we assure on our oils are accurately made by our independent laboratory accredited (ISO/IEC 17025:2005). Investigations are attentive to check fatty acids and sterols composition, acid and peroxide values, aflatoxins, heavy metals determination and microbiological tests. 

Loliettoo®’s goal is ensuring product integrity with great reliability, guarantee of traceability and fastest lead times in the industry.

A distinguishing feature of loliettoo® project is its potential to generate research aimed at the identification of new organic molecules with high technological potential and nutraceutical and/or cosmetic purposes. We have the finest pure raw material at our disposal to conduct and promote research programmes geared toward the right direction. We actively work in order to support the most innovative and modern techniques, such as the nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), to investigate complex vegetable matrices like oils and discover new functional ingredients within. 

It is also with the help of this forefront methodology that we encourage the new classification of vegetable oils as a safe guarantee of products traceability and quality assurance. Indeed, driven by our critical and scientific mind, loliettoo® is building the first accurate species-specific identification code of vegetable oils, based on their intrinsic and peculiar chemical and physical properties. In fact, up to the present, excluding Reg. EU 61/2011 referred to just olive oil, only few and general indications for oils characteristics come from the European Pharmacopoeia (Ph. Eur.) which was actually born to deal with constitutive components of medicine. Lack of a specific referential standard and weakness of general superintendence and inspections from the top are the reasons for a trade market at the risk of adulteration/contamination. As well as the Codex Alimentarius develops harmonised international food standards, guidelines and codes of practice to protect the health of the consumers and ensure fair practices in the food trade, loliettoo® strives this way for defending and preserving such vulnerable oil trade market.

Our ambitious vision and plans are made possible by the great support we receive from Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna, holding a unique position within the Italian higher education system. On 28th of April 2015, our project has been officially approved by the Scuola and loliettoo® has become the first academic spin-off within the Institute of Life Sciences able to exploit and value the international PhD Programme in Agrobiodiversity born in order to develop international collaborations with the Emerging Countries.
